Ignatius is a lot of things, most of them despicable, but he isn't a liar. I don't think he's naive enough to fall for a ruse from one of his allies, either. I'm not about to say Lapis is a scheming traitor or anything, but that rumor probably didn't come from nowhere.

So when I was in Portland, I wasn't... me, exactly, but another girl named Rita. A changeling who fled the Summer Court just two years ago, after spending most of her life as a prisoner of a certain fae.

[Said indignantly, as if that was a stupid and offensive question. It takes a moment for her to consider that this magic is friggin' weird, pretty much nobody really understands it, and the things she does understand aren't necessarily common sense. So after a pause, she does offer some clarification.]
... When we got out, we regained our real memories and identities. The magic that changed us in the first place was limited to that world, so the rest of the multiverse was unaffected.
We retained a lot of our memories from our other lives, though... so it's almost like we lived two separate lives up to this point.
